Hammam massage is similar to Turkish bath, but has some different concepts.Turkish bath or hammam is the variant of the Roman bath, steambath, sauna,or Russian banya, distinguished by a focus on water, as distinct from ambient steam. In Western Europe, the hammam or Turkish bath is used as a method of cleansing and relaxation.

Turkish hammam what is a hammam

The hammam process involved in taking a Turkish bath is similar to effects of sauna, but is more closely related to ancient Greek and ancient Roman bathing practices.
Turkish bath starts with relaxation in a room (breathing hot air) that is heated by a continuous flow of hot, dry air, allowing the bather to perspire freely. After this relaxation room you then move to an even hotter room called (the hot room) before they wash in cold water.Once you heat your body into hot room an breathing hot air you will pass the washing room, where bathers will use very cold water for your entire body. This process is knew that is helping body to be healthy, your immune system will be more strong, blood circulation will be adjusted, your body skin will be more clean, without toxin's, or dead cells. After performing a full body wash and receiving a massage, bathers finally retire to the cooling-room for a period of relaxation.
The difference between the Islamic hammam and the Victorian Turkish bath is the air. The hot air in the Victorian Turkish bath is dry, once in the Islamic hammam the air is often steamy.

The bather in a Victorian Turkish bath will often take a plunge in a cold pool after the hot room.Compared with Turkish hammam, the Islamic hammams  bathers splash themselves with cold water. After bath is done, you are taken to massage room, where your body will be rubbed with argan oil, while you seat on a heated table massage. After oil massage, the  therapist will use coffee scrub, naturally created from the argan oil and coffee, to rub your body and cleanse the skin of impurities. When you enter at hammam, you pay the fee at the entrance desk, after that you are guided to changing rooms.
The changing room often doubles as a place for people to rest after their bath. Most of the hammams serve coffee or tea in this room. While you rest, you should keep the towel wrapped around your waist. In hammams fully nudity is not permitted and is considered offensive.
You should use hammam if you travel to Turkey or Marocco, the principals countries where traditional baths are used for hammam massage for tourists. Charges may vary from each city to other, but some hotels they offer similar treatments and massages with natural argan oil, the kind ingredient in cosmetic. Hammam is unique from its name, from culture of Turkey with thousands of years of hammam tradition.
